Hello beautiful people, so today my post would be on rocking those gorgeous locs to the office. Most people face great criticisms because of their locs as some societies tend to term them as dirty and unruly people. But that's far from the truth, because our natural hair is beautiful in every way - locs, puffs, twist out or braid out...It's all beautiful. Rocking 'Locs to the office proves quite difficult in certain countries and this might weigh on some people's self esteem. I decided to seek...

I bought some bentonite clay from @naturalhairavenue on IG and decided to try it out today and I was impressed. I've never seen my curls pop out like that. Jeezz😧 1. I mixed some bentonite clay with water and olive oil in a PLASTIC bowl (DO NOT USE A METAL DISH BECAUSE IT WILL REDUCE IT'S EFFECTIVENESS. USE GLASS OR PLASTIC). That quantity was small so I added more. You can always use Apple Cider Vinegar or green tea instead of water and any other essential oils 2. I loosened my two cornrow...

PS: let’s take a moment to appreciate how well shaped my brows look 😊. How to deep condition your hair using Shanyi organic products (and any other one of your choice). I will write how I did this in steps with pictures too…just so you see how I did it (and to make the post interesting). Step 1. I had a protective style on (I had washed my hair the previous week). The first step is to loosen the protective style. Step 2. The next step is to detangle your hair. The h...

Hello everyone, This week my post would be on wearing our natural hair when participating in sports or working out (I'm sure our fitness enthusiast sisters would love this!). Unfortunately, none of the images I found online on this topic doesn't quite catch my fancy so no pictures so I'll be making this post more verbal. When you workout or doing sports of course you sweat and this sweats shrinks hair and clogs up the pores which inhibits growth if our hair isn't properly 'packaged' well....

Yeahh soo this is how far I've gone😄. I never thought my hair would grow this long, sooo fast. I am actually very surprised by how long my hair has grown. I was always doing protective styles (cornrows, because of school) and was taking them down every two weeks. I later on learnt about all the Protein treatments, hot-oil treatments, pre-poo, ACV rinse etc, and that's when I started doing them, my hair length increased and my love for natural hair began. I absolutely love natural hair😭😍. The v...

If every time you take out your protective style after a month or so, you notice that your hair is dry and breaking, your scalp itches and is flaking, and if you’re unlucky, your edges are falling out and your hair is all knotted up at the base, then chances are you did nothing to protect your protective style while you had it on. Protective styles, whether with extensions or with just your hair need some care too. Even though you have taken a break from your hair, you hair hasn’t taken a bre...

Hats are a great way to protect your hair from damage and keep yourself warm too. And what's more? They are great Fashion accessories to have, especially for Natural hair. They give our overall look that zing* and makes your hair pop. Another beautiful thing is that they can be rocked with any length of hair, from TWA to floor length (if you know, you know ) Today though, my images will be focusing more on the TWA 'cos the TWA stage is usually tricky, with so many conflicting worries on ...

Hey! I his joined my afrohub and I really love the idea behind it. So down to business. I had never been the shampoo person at al majorly cuz almost all shampoos I found contained sulfates in them. I was more of a cowash girl then bentonite clay mask to clarify. Then I was on ig one day when I came across this diy shampoo and I was like hey, why not? 🙂. Items used were -dudu osun black soap (sold everywhere in Nigeria) -hot water -honey -peppermint oil -oil mix containing olive and coco...

In the Gambia, keeping natural hair wasn't that common few years ago but now it is becoming a trend. Even if one is not keeping their natural hair already, they are thinking of going natural, "au naturel". Deciding to go natural is easy, what becomes the challenge is whether to go through "transitioning"(i.e., gradually growing out your perm) or do the "big chop"(snipping off your relaxed hair and starting over from scratch). You come across people who would tell you that "i have decided/...

Well... Not really sure how to start off this post but I guess I'll just start anyway. Quite frankly I have never been a fan of the natural African hair and this is owing to the fact that I had basically what you would call a great hair. She was thick, long, generously full and yes, stubborn. Don't be surprised am personifying her because she definitely had a mind of her own. I can still recur how I would run from one beauty parlour to another looking for the perfect product and relaxer t...

I must start my post with an apology as this post should have been up sooner. but then i had some issues with the pictures and that is what delayed the post. believing my apology has been accepted i will move on now with the post. True friends are gold trust me…like absolute pure gold with no impurities. So a few days ago I was ill, I was crying and all. I had to be taken to the schools clinic. I have two friends I walk with (finally made friends), although they are boys. They took me to the ...
